PRIMO MARELLA GALLERY

BOOTH - B08, LA NUVOLA

21 - 23 NOVEMBER, 2025

Primo Marella Gallery is delighted to announce its participation in the fifth edition of Roma Arte in Nuvola, taking place from November 21-23, 2025 at the Roma Convention Center – La Nuvola.

The gallery will present a curatorial project that reflects its ongoing mission to promote both emerging and established artists from regions often underrepresented in the global art scene, with a special focus on new and diverse expressions of international contemporary art.

As part of the event, the fair has invited Samuel Nnorom to showcase After The Pandemic, the winning artwork of the Saatchi Art Gallery Global Art Prize for Change in 2022.

With After the Pandemic, Nnorom sought to reflect on what the COVID-19 pandemic left behind in our societies. The bubbles represent the invisible barriers that formed between people: isolation, distancing, and forced separation. But they also speak of inequality – because not everyone experienced the pandemic in the same way. Some were more protected, others more exposed; some had access to care and connection, while others were left behind.

Nnorom takes a personal and collective experience and transforms it into a universal artwork, one that combines memory, pain, but also hope. The bubbles are not entirely separate – they seem to reach toward each other, to reconnect, to rebuild a damaged social fabric.

The jury recognized in his work a strong poetic force, deep symbolic meaning, and a visual language capable of speaking to everyone. It’s a work rooted in a local context – Nigeria – yet it addresses a globally shared condition. For this reason, Samuel Nnorom not only won a prize, but he also showed how art can truly be a space for dialogue, remembrance, and transformation.

We look forward to welcoming you in Rome to explore a selection of works that challenge boundaries, celebrate diversity and expand the geography of contemporary art.
