Primo Marella Gallery is pleased to present Please Sing Me My Song Before You Go: Joël Andrianomearisoa’s inaugural solo exhibition at Hakanto Contemporary.
This exhibitions revolves around the eponymous film, which is the first that the artist has created.
This film was commissioned by IFA Gallery and it premiered in Berlin in 2024 during his exhibition Measures Lullabies and Whispers, curated by Alya Sebti and Meriem Berrada.
Joël Andrianomearisoa's Please Sing Me My Song Before You Go is an intimate and melancholic piece that draws upon the resonances of fragmented memory, haunted by the echo of a lullaby, Iny Hono Izy Ravorombazaha, which here is transformed into a song of abandonment.
Through this installation the artist reinvents an everyday ritual and elevates it to poetry.
