Joël andrianomearisoa installation at Nice Biennale

Nice Biennale des Arts et de l’Océan 2025
We’re proud to share the striking site-specific installation by Joël Andrianomearisoa, created for the Biennale des Arts et de l’Océan 2025 in Nice, France.

For this edition of the Biennale, Joël Andrianomearisoa unveils a new poetic installation conceived in dialogue with the unique topography of Nice, suspended between sea and mountains. As if suspended in the sky, the phrase elevates the ever-shifting, endlessly reimagined horizon of the shoreline.

With the phrase Songer  la vague sur un horizon une promesse floating above the Ponchettes — an 18th-century terraces once dedicated to the contemplation of the sea — the work draws a poetic line between the city and the vastness beyond.

“I wanted a text that invites dreaming,” the artist writes. “A voice that carries a promise for a better world… the sea… and us… together… imagining.”

Blending the fragility of emotion with the strength of public space, Andrianomearisoa continues to explore the universality of human experience through the language of form and poetry.
