Gianfranco Zappettini’s 1976 work Tele sovrapposte n. 30/D has been acquired by the permanent collection of the Museo del Novecento in Milan.
The work belongs to Zappettini’s distinguished "Tele sovrapposte" cycle – a series in which the artist redefined the boundaries of painting by emphasizing process, materiality and the autonomy of the work itself. This piece was exhibited at documenta 6 in Kassel in 1977, an accolade that confirms Zappettini’s central role in shaping European Analytical Painting in the 1970s.
