Abdoulaye Konaté featured at Tate Modern in London

Artist and Society Ehxibition
Primo Marella Gallery is pleased to announce that Malian artist Abdoulaye Konaté is currently featured in the Artist and Society exhibition at Tate Modern in London. This exhibition explores how artists respond to social ideals and historical realities through their work.
The Artist and Society wing is dedicated to showcasing how modern and contemporary artists have engaged with the world around them. While some embraced modernism’s utopian ideals, others have used art as a powerful lens through which to examine contemporary life—highlighting urgent social issues, prompting reflection, or advocating for change.

Konaté’s work, known for its striking use of textiles and color to address themes such as politics, environment, and human rights, resonates deeply with the curatorial vision. Through both abstraction and figuration, and with a balance of militancy and poetic detachment, his pieces reflect and respond to the realities of the society in which they were created.

Visitors to the Tate Modern can see how Konaté and other featured artists use traditional and new media alike to convey messages—sometimes subtle, sometimes explicit—that challenge, provoke, and inspire.
