Abdoulaye Konaté presents the solo exhibition L’âme des signes

Musée National du Mali, Bamako, from September 1 to September 30, 2026.

Primo Marella Gallery is pleased to share the opening of L’âme des signes, a new solo exhibition by Abdoulaye Konaté, opening on September 1, 2026, at the Musée National du Mali in Bamako and remaining on view through September 30, 2026.

The exhibition is presented by the Ministry of Crafts, Culture, Hospitality Industry and Tourism of Mali, under the patronage of Minister Mamou Daffé, and represents an important recognition of one of the most influential contemporary African artists of his generation.

The exhibition forms part of the revitalization program of the Musée National du Mali, initiated by the Department of Culture to strengthen the museum’s role as a center for the preservation, research, and promotion of Mali’s cultural heritage.

Through his distinctive visual language, rooted in the use of textile, color, and symbolism, Konaté explores themes of memory, identity, spirituality, and contemporary social transformations. Internationally acclaimed for his monumental textile works, the artist continues to foster a dialogue between tradition and contemporaneity, a defining aspect of his artistic practice.

L’âme des signes is on view at the Musée National du Mali, Bamako, from September 1 to September 30, 2026.
