Primo Marella Gallery is pleased to announce the participation of Ronald Ventura in Biennale Arte Venezia 2026 with Luna, a major site-specific exhibition presented as a Collateral Event of the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia.
Curated by Ruel Caasi, the exhibition is on view at Docks Cantieri Cucchini, a former shipyard in Venice's Castello district, from 9 May to 22 November 2026.
Through a new body of work spanning oil paintings, charcoal drawings, resin sculptural compositions, Murano glass sculptures, and video installations, Ventura continues his multifaceted exploration of contemporary cultural realities in the Philippines, placing the fishing community of Malabon in dialogue with the city of Venice.
Within the space of the former shipyard, water emerges as an ambiguous force—capable of both sustaining and threatening life—acting as a bridge between two places whose histories, identities, and futures are deeply shaped by their relationship with the sea. Centered around the moon as both symbol and force, Luna reflects on shared histories, environmental change, and the enduring rhythms of nature.
